Keiser University’s Associate and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Homeland Security are designed to prepare you for careers in law enforcement, emergency management, and protective services.

Associate of Arts in Homeland Security

Through the A.A. in Homeland Security program, you will learn to:

  • Understand homeland security operations, including the role and mission of the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Support emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and continuity planning.
  • Examine the balance between public safety and civil liberties.
  • Build foundational knowledge for careers in homeland security, law enforcement, emergency management, and related fields.

Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security

Through the B.A. in Homeland Security program, you will learn to:

  • Identify and assess threats that affect public safety and national security.
  • Explore strategies for preparing for, responding to, and recovering from security incidents and crises.
  • Study how government agencies coordinate emergency response efforts.
  • Analyze policies, practices, and resources that help protect communities and critical infrastructure.

Career Pathways

Graduates of the associate program may pursue entry-level positions with:

  • Local, State & Federal Emergency Management
  • Local, State & Federal Law Enforcement
  • Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Bachelor’s degree graduates may be eligible for investigative positions with the:

  • Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

  • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)
