Forensic Investigations

Program Objectives

Students in the Investigation Concentration develop a comprehensive background in forensic investigative procedures and techniques and learn to use natural and physical sciences to aid in solving crimes. Another objective of the program is to provide students with knowledge of criminal statutes, rules of criminal procedure and rules of evidence, which all can impact one’s capacity to serve as an expert witness in a court of law.

The Science Concentration will develop critical thinkers who are capable of being strong performers in the forensic field as well as develop students’ analytical skills and laboratory techniques routinely applied in the application of the forensic sciences.  The program will also develop students written and verbal competencies, enabling them to formulate concise and accurate reports of the results of scientific analysis.

Graduates will be prepared for entry-level employment in the forensics field.
