Your Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
If you’re passionate about helping others live more independently, a career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) can put your compassion to work. Keiser University’s Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant program prepares you with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on fieldwork experiences to support patients of all ages as they overcome challenges related to injury, illness, or disability.
Through classroom instruction and clinical opportunities, you can learn how to:
- Promote Independence: Help individuals develop, regain, or improve their skills to perform everyday activities.
- Implement Therapeutic Interventions: Apply evidence-based treatment plans under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists.
- Adapt Environments and Activities: Recommend modifications and assistive strategies that help patients safely participate in daily life.
- Communicate with Compassion: Build strong relationships with patients, families, and health care professionals through patient-centered communication.
- Prepare for Professional Certification: Build the competencies to prepare you to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.
After graduating from our program, you will be eligible to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) OTA certification exam.
