Your Surgical Technology Program
Do you have an interest in surgery and medicine? Surgical technologists are an important part of an operating room team, and work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses and other surgical personnel. These professionals help supply the operating room with the instruments, equipment and supplies that will be needed during a surgical procedure. Keiser University’s career-focused Associate of Science degree in Surgical Technology can help equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to begin an exciting surgical technology career.
Keiser University’s Associate of Science Degree in Surgical Technology combines classroom instruction with hands-on lab and clinical experience. Your coursework will cover areas including health care concepts; surgical techniques and procedures; and surgical specialties with anatomy and physiology. You’ll learn how to help team members create a sterile field; pass instruments, supplies and equipment to surgeons; and function effectively as a surgical team member. During your externship, you’ll get practical experience in real-world health care settings.
Learning that Fits Your Life
Keiser offers small classes for more personalized learning, one course at a time. In addition to in-person instruction at convenient campus locations near you, most general education classes may be taken online to fit your degree more flexibly into your life.
