Program Objectives

Keiser University’s Master of Science in Golf Teaching and Learning program’s overall objective is to provide students with the tools needed to succeed in teaching the game of golf. Students will develop their instructional skills and abilities by integrating the various mental, physical, age-specific, and conceptual aspects of golf instruction.

By gaining an understanding of how learning and motor skill development occur and the differences in teaching children and adults, students will learn how to construct sound, student-centered golf lesson plans that are appropriate to the ages and skill levels of various populations. They will also acquire a framework to further develop their teaching strategies, philosophies, and practices, so they can improve their teaching methods and also mentor less-experienced golf instructors.

Through their coursework, students will develop their abilities to analyze and make decisions regarding the management of golf instructional programs, facilities and equipment, and staff. They’ll also learn about the proper physical and mental competencies required of golf instructors, and they’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate effective teaching techniques for golf fitness and nutrition.

Students in the program will also explore the concepts and practice of live research and learn techniques for conducting a theoretically sound research project.

The Master of Science in Golf Teaching and Learning program is open to applicants with a bachelor’s degree in all majors. For specific admission requirements, please contact Keiser University’s College of Golf and Sport Management at our Flagship Residential Campus in West Palm Beach, Florida.
