Your Occupational Therapy – Bridge Program, MS

If you’re a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant looking to advance your career, the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Bridge Program at Keiser University can help put you on the road to success. Designed specifically for health care providers with OTA credentials, the program builds on your professional experience and develops your managerial, program assessment, research, and occupation-based evaluation and intervention planning skills while preparing you for leadership roles in occupational therapy.

The MSOT Bridge Program combines hybrid instruction with clinical learning experiences to prepare you to take the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam. Upon passing the NBCOT exam, you will be ready to function as a generalist occupational therapist within the profession.

While pursuing your master’s degree, you’ll also earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health after 120 undergraduate semester credit hours, inclusive of pre-requisite courses.

Through a combination of academic courses and full-time fieldwork experiences, you’ll learn to articulate OT theory, analyze practice-related evidence, and apply evaluation strategies, so you can effectively plan and implement OT services and treatment. You’ll also expand your skills for developing and modifying occupation-based intervention plans for individual clients based on assessment results, priorities and discharge needs, environmental factors, and expected outcomes. Additionally, students collaborate with peers to interpret and apply interdisciplinary, evidence-based research to OT practice to explore how science informs practice and practice informs science.

Applicants are required to hold an Associate of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant Degree from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of recent, professional experience working as a licensed occupational therapy assistant and an active unrestricted Professional OTA license.

What Our Students Are Saying

“What drew me to Keiser was that they were super flexible. I was a new mom, I was a little unsure about going back to school in my late 20s and they really just make it super accommodating and comfortable jumping back into it. The faculty and staff here truly have an open-door policy. Everybody has made it super easy to reach out if there are questions, or a problem or concern. I feel like I can go to anybody for help.”

– Hannah V. Keiser University A.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant Student
Keiser University Occupational Therapy Assistant Graduate

Keiser University was, hands down, the perfect place for me to pursue my degree in Occupational Therapy. The smaller class sizes, coupled with the attentiveness and accessibility of the instructors, gave me the most thorough and qualified education possible. Outside of the classroom, the internships offered through Keiser afforded me the opportunity to build rapport within the therapy community and effectively network, which was no doubt the reason I was able to become immediately employed post-graduation despite the challenging job market. Ultimately, while being educated at Keiser, I absolutely fell in love with being a therapist, which is something that will fuel my career to the very end, and I am forever grateful.
